Heartland Church sits at the foot of the hill on Highway 279, just past the Lake Dam Road. An unassuming building, it looks like most churches should to the mind’s eye: parking lot, cross out front, and a steeple on top. Inside the building, however, is another story.

As the Brownwood Lyric Theatre readies itself for the upcoming production of Crimes of the Heart, there is a crew hard at work that you won’t see, but their efforts are very visible to theater-goers.

When you ask Jimmy Trowbridge to tell you about himself, you will hear several times an apology for not being exciting. With a career in Emergency Services, a run for office, his time cooking for events like the Brownwood Reunion, and teaching safety procedures to the public, one begins to disagree with Mr. Trowbridge’s account of himself.
