Brown County Judge challenger Paul Lilly beat out incumbent Ray West with 2,576 votes to 2,193 votes. Lilly will begin his service as the new Brown County Judge on January 1, 2019.

An online fundraiser has been posted to help a Brownwood paramedic injured after a vehicle struck an ambulance earlier this year. Richard “Stephen” Sharp, 33 years old of Brownwood, was working his shift as a paramedic when the accident occurred on February 18th.

According to reports from the Brownwood Police Department, the officer shined a hand-held flashlight at the vehicle which then sped off and ran a stop sign at 1st Street and Avenue D.
