Reading Rodeo ended with horses, roping, and a chuck wagon lunch on Friday, August 15th. The annual summer reading and math event ran for two weeks before the big finale that has featured Nancy Blackstock with her family and horses for the last 12 years.
Blackstock, who retired at the end of last year as the Brownwood Middle School Administrative Assistant, was joined by students and teachers, Brec Moss and Amy Fisher for the final show.“Ms. Blackstock has always supported the efforts of all our students and wanted Reading Rodeo to have a remarkable ending each year,” said Brownwood ISD Special Education Director, Michele Cruse, noting that Blackstock will surely be missed. “This is the last time Ms. Blackstock will take part in the event. Thank you to Nancy and to the teachers for making this year a successful and exciting preparation for the new school year.”
