3G network capabilities are headed to Brownwood, and AT&T is working to get the 3G coverage to the area in the coming weeks.
There has been quite a buzz in the area with high anticipation for the 3G expansion to Brown County. The main question that is being asked is when will the 3G network be available in the area?
AT&T Spokesperson Sarah Andreani said today, “The local network is going through extensive testing and optimization to ensure that customers in Brownwood will have a great experience on the 3G network when it becomes available. Local AT&T customers may even begin to see a 3G icon popping up on their wireless phones as we continue to test the network. We do anticipate launching the 3G network in Brownwood in the coming weeks.”
By offering its 3G wireless broadband service, AT&T is changing how, when and where people access the Internet, use e-mail or view a variety of entertainment services. Customers can use 3G handsets to quickly access feature-rich wireless content, including videos, games, pictures and the latest music, entertainment, news and weather, through MEdia Net, the company’s mobile Internet portal.
AT&T 3G network customers can view razor-sharp clips through CV, an on-demand streaming video service that offers a comprehensive library of mobile video content from some of the top media brands. The AT&T 3G network is ideal for mobile customers.
Through LaptopConnect, laptop users have DSL-type speeds and the ability to quickly download or upload large files, run corporate applications, access the Internet or their company’s intranet and check e-mail from anywhere within the 3G network.
