Brownwood News – The following calls for service were responded to in recent days by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department:

On Sunday, July 7, at approximately 18:15, a deputy met with a complainant on County Road 351 in Blanket in reference to a debit card abuse report and investigation.

On Wednesday, July 10, a deputy was patrolling the area of FM 1689 and Highway 183 North.  The deputy was waved down by a man who said he wanted a Criminal Trespass Warning against another man.  The man was located on Thursday, July 11 and the Criminal Trespass warning was issued.

On Friday, July 12, at approximately 11:37 hours, a deputy responded to an active domestic disturbance on County Road 609 where a female was being dragged by a pickup.  The pickup was driven by a man who was not on scene when the deputy arrived, but later located, and arrested for Assault Family Violence.

On Friday, July 12, at approximately 12:19, a deputy was dispatched to East U.S. Highway 377 in reference to the theft of a camper trailer report and investigation.

On Friday, July 12, a Lieutenant spoke with a woman on Turner Drive in reference to being scammed out of $2,200.  A report was taken and it is unknown the identity of the suspect.  Investigation continues.

On July 12, a deputy spoke with a man about a male trespassing on his property and possibly taking items from his property.  The man was identified as a suspect.  Information was gathered and a report was taken.

On July 12, a deputy responded to FM 1849 about 2 miles north of Highway 67 West.  This was in regards of a female possibly being thrown from a vehicle.  A woman left a residence with a man and was in fear for her safety.  Information was gathered and a report was made.

On July 12, a deputy and Corporal responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on County Road 234.  Deputies arrived and contacted the caller who reported her boyfriend had assaulted her.  She stated a knife was exhibited during the incident.  Deputies attempted contact with the man but were unsuccessful.  Information was gathered and a report made.

On July 12, at approximately 22:49 hours, a Corporal responded to Highway 279 for an intoxicated male walking.  The man was subsequently arrested for Public Intoxication.  He was transported to the Brown County Jail and released to the jail staff.

On Saturday, July 13, at approximately 16:34 hours, a deputy spoke with the complainant who advised that a known person had entered his house.  Complainant pointed his gun at the suspect and the suspect left the house on Waterford Drive in Brownwood.

On July 14, at about 10:14 hours, a deputy arrived at the Brownwood ER located at Crockett Drive in Brownwood.  This was in reference to an assault.  The deputy spoke to a woman who stated she had been assaulted by her boyfriend.

On Sunday, July 14, at approximately 15:30, a deputy was dispatched to an address on North Highway 279.  This was in reference to a burglary of a habitation.  A report was taken and investigation underway.

On Friday, July 12, at approximately 15:11 hours, a deputy was dispatched to County Road 163.  This was in regards to a burglary.  The deputy arrived on scene and spoke with the caller who said the safe in his home had been messed with.  A report was made.

On July 15, at approximately 4:58 am, a deputy was dispatched to FM 586 in Bangs.  This was in regards to an assault.  The male subject was placed in the patrol car to separate both parties.  Later, while speaking with the male subject, the deputy noticed a green/clear baggie containing 1.5 grams with packaging a white crystallized substance between his feet.  The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.  The man was ultimately arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1, 1G<4G, F3.

On Monday, July 15, at approximately 18:49, a deputy was dispatched to Lakeshore Drive and Portside Drive in reference to a fire call and suspicious circumstances.  A report will follow.
