McClureFuneral services for Arvel McClure, 98, of Fort Worth , formerly of Brownwood , will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 6, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Rocky Creek Cemetery under the direction of Netherton Funeral Home and Cremations. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 5, at the funeral home.

Mr. McClure passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013, in Fort Worth .

Arvel Wesley McClure was born on April 11, 1915, in Wellington Texas to Luther Wesley McClure and Rene Celeste Wilson McClure. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 90th Infantry Division.

Mr. McClure had worked for the City of Coleman for 10 years as a Maintainer in the Maintenance Department and had previously lived at Lake Brownwood and Brownwood for 14 years before moving to Fort Worth . He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and most of all; he loved hanging out with his grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Max and Louise Dickerson of Midland and Dickie Dickerson of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Jo Miller of Wichita Falls.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ava McClure; and brothers; Gene, Dick, Johnny and Billy McClure.
