Works by Howard Payne University’s art faculty will be on exhibit in the Dorothy and Wendell Mayes Gallery of the university’s Doakie Day Art Center September 11 through October 18.
Titled “Artists in Action,” the exhibition features collage, drawing, ink, painting, pastel and various photographic techniques.
The artists include David Harmon, professor of art and chair of the Department of Art; Susan Harmon, adjunct instructor of art; and Julie Mize, adjunct instructor of photography.
“We’re proud to welcome the community to this exhibition as we kick off the new semester at HPU,” said David Harmon.David and Susan Harmon are also scheduled to exhibit paintings throughout the month of September at the Abilene Center for the Arts. Additionally, David Harmon will participate in an exhibition titled “40@100,” celebrating the 100-year anniversary of his alma mater, Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Harmon received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Webster in 1977.
