The Brownwood Art Association will host a special demonstration from celebrated artist Patty Rae Wellborn on Saturday, November 14th at 1:30 p.m. at the Art Building at 215 Fisk Avenue in Brownwood. The demonstration is free of charge, and the public is encouraged to come and learn this artist’s interesting technique. Patty Rae Wellborn will be demonstrating her impressive palette knife painting skills.
Art Association members are especially encouraged to attend this demonstration as there will be a meeting directly following in which the Art Association will accept nominations for the Artist of the Year award. Tickets for the annual Chili Luncheon and Miniature Art Sale (Dec. 4th) will also be available to purchase during the demonstration and meeting.
Wellborn’s art features rich color, and hearty textures. She pulls inspirations for her work from memories, traveling, and life experiences, often including strong spiritual elements in her paintings. Wellborn is currently a member of Mike Lanier’s Studio 13 & Gallery, a group of 13 artists who work together, sharing their ideas to create new pieces.
