Brownwood News – The Brownwood Art Association will be hosting a “Muse & Merlot” event on Friday, June 16th, at the Art Center, located at 215 Fisk Avenue in downtown Brownwood. Muse & Merlot is held every month by the Art Association, and a portion of the funds raised through the event help the association to provide many free art activities and events to the community.
For the June event, painters will learn to create the “Pink Flamingo,” pictured at top, with step-by-step instruction. No painting or artistic experience is required. Cost is $35 per painter, which includes the instruction and all supplies needed for the project. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and class will be held from 7-9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy. Seating is limited, and interested individuals are asked to email museandmerlot@gmail.com to reserve a spot.
The Brownwood Art Association recently celebrated it’s 90th anniversary and is one of the oldest established art associations in the state of Texas. The association regularly holds receptions for selected artists of the month, which are free and open to the public, on the first Thursday of each month.
