The local domestic violence shelter the ARK held a lunch fund raiser on Thursday at the Wendlee Broadcasting parking lot on North Fisk Ave.
Workers and volunteers handed out free sausage wraps and ribbons at the lunch event to help raise awareness of domestic violence and educate the public. Donations benefiting the ARK were also accepted.
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the ARK wants to help educate the public on domestic violence and ways to help stop it.
The ARK will also host a candlelight vigil at Girling Center for Social Justice – Tuesday October 27th 7pm.
