BadgeLogoThe Brown County Sheriff’s Office has had an ongoing investigation on Brown County traffickers who obtained significant quantities of methamphetamine from suspects in Brady, Texas, according to Sheriff Bobby Grubbs.  This investigation has led to the arrest of five people with more arrests expected as the investigation continues.

The following information was released regarding the investigation:

“Brown County deputies with the assistance of the Brady Police Department worked cooperatively on June 4, 2014, on a surveillance of a residence in the 1400 block of S. College in Brady.  At about 8:15 p.m., a search warrant was executed by the BCSO tactical unit in concert with the Brady Police Department and McCullough County Sheriff’s Office.

Inside the residence, officers seized approximately 60 grams of high grade crystalline methamphetamine (also known as ICE) and associated paraphernalia.  At the residence, officers arrested Chester Horton, Victor Jordan Hernandez and Stephen Gomez.  Gomez and Horton are known Brownwood area drug dealers.  Officers also seized a counter-surveillance system and several cameras.  Phillip David Gomez, also a Brownwood area drug dealer and the target of the investigation fled the residence minutes before officers executed the hard entry warrant.  Cooperative efforts to locate Phillip Gomez are ongoing in McCullough and Brown Counties.

Also on June 4th, Brown County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped Timothy Scott Richardson in the 1500 block of Coggin Avenue in Brownwood.  With probable cause, Richardson was searched and deputies also found about 21 grams of high grade crystalline methamphetamine.  Richardson was also within 1000 feet of the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church Youth Center and was charged with the enhanced offense of ‘Possession with Intent to Deliver a Penalty Group 1 Substance within a Drug Free Zone.’  Richardson was also charged with tampering with physical evidence as he tried to destroy the drugs during the stop by the officers.  Richardson was booked into the Brown County Jail.”

This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues, according to Sheriff Grubbs.
