Written by Ben Cox – Preparations for the annual Girls night out for a cause that is Brownwood Woman’s Club’s “Glitz Glamour and Gals” are in full swing.

The annual fundraiser is next Tuesday, the 13th at the Depot from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature many familiar vendors from last year, with plenty of new delights to tempt your pocketbook as well.

The main fundraiser for the Woman’s Club of Brownwood, the evening was able to raise over $11,000 last year, all of which was then re-donated to area non-profit organizations.

Angie Schults says the evening will “allow ladies a night out to shop and have fun” all while giving to good causes right in our own backyard.

15 groups received donations from the Woman’s Club in 2018 so far, including the Brown County Museum of History, the Brownwood Area Community Gardens, TJJD (PAWS), Good Samaritan and many others. Applications for donations can be made by local groups in February.

Close to 30 merchandise vendors will be in place this year, as well as nine food vendors. There will be shuttle service to “get you and your purchases to and from you vehicle” so no worried about hauling heavy bags out the door.

Schults says the “The Woman’s Club of Brownwood could not do this without the help of our sponsors for this event”: Big Country Ford, Wendlee Broadcasting, Landmark Life, Waldrop Construction, Bostick’s, Brownwood Bulletin, CNB, Western Bank, Mills Co. State Bank, Texas Bank, Depot Liquor, Porter Insurance, Sonic; Davis-Morris Funeral Home, Heartland Funeral Home, Cutting Edge Hair Salon, Creative Image Laser Solutions, Cardiac Solutions, with the list continually growing!

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Wendlee Broadcasting, Big County Ford/Lincoln, or from any Woman’s Club member.
