Brown County firefighters were called to a grass fire on County Road 267, near Ten Mile Crossing Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 11:30 a.m. as a farmer was baling hay.  It spread burning approximately 5-7 acres, according to Brownwood Fire Marshal Buddy Preston.

Losses suffered from the fire include 35 round bales and the hay baler, said fire officials.  No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

Brownwood Fire Department, Early, Brookesmith, Winchell and Zephyr Volunteer Fire Departments, and the Brownwood fire marshal responded to the fire.  Allegiance EMS also responded to the scene.
