Anthoney “Tony” Dean Daniel – a man defined by his deep love for Jesus Christ and his family – went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2018 with family by his side. Tony, age 60, was born on February 27, 1958 in Hamlin, Texas. He spent 31 years in education as a coach, principal, and superintendent, retiring in 2012 to focus on the Brownwood Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ mission to encourage coaches and athletes to impact the world for Jesus Christ. Tony and his wife Debbie are members of the Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Tony’s servant leadership was palpable, dedicating his time to improving the community around him. With a comforting demeanor, infectious smile, encouraging tone, and genuine heart, he was passionate about loving Jesus and his family well & guiding other men to do the same.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 41 years, Debbie; sons, Zach (daughter-in-love Sarah), Jordan (daughter-in-love Jill), Tyler (daughter-in-love Brooke); 5 granddaughters he adored, Molly, Alli, Camden, Maxie, and Maggie; mother, Mickey Murchison; in-laws, Frank and Darlene Batson; brothers, Mark Daniel and wife Gayle, Richard Daniel and wife Vicki, Shannon Daniel and wife Brooklyn; sister, Leslie Pool and husband Preston; nieces, Kelsey Scherwin and husband Ronnie, McKenzie Coronado and husband Junior; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family would like to thank Walker Cancer Center, Brownwood Regional Medical Center, their family at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church, FCA staff and the Brownwood Area FCA Board for their love and support.
Services will be held at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church at 1815 Coggin Avenue, Brownwood TX 76801. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a Celebration of Life on Monday, October 1 at 3:30pm.
