The Brownwood Quilters’ Guild will be hosting it’s 6th Annual Heart of Texas Quilt Show on April 24-25, 2010, at the Brownwood Coliseum.
The show will kick off at 10:00 on Saturday morning with over 150 quilts on display, vendors, technique demonstrations, door prizes and scissor sharpening. Lots of pretty things to be seen and fun to be had!
The guild will be selling tickets for its Donation Quilt – “Oh My Stars”, a queen size quilt with coordinating throw pillows for $1 each or $5 for 6. A portion of the Proceeds from the donation quilt will be used purchase items to be donated to The Ark.
In addition, there will be a Quilter’s Goodie Basket to be given away at the conclusion of the show on Sunday. All proceeds from the sale of tickets for the Goodie Basket will be donated to the Toys for Kids Program in December.
This year’s workshop, Hand Applique Look by Machine, will be conducted both Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:30 – 12:00 at the Girl Scout Facility and will be taught by Angela McCorkle. The cost for the workshop is $45, which includes all the materials required to make the project for the class. Participants will need to bring only their sewing machines and basic sewing supplies.
