annieThe Lyric Performing Arts Company will present the musical “Annie” as its annual community musical for 2010 which opens Thursday.

This year’s show will be entertaining from start to finish and offers some great talent and music.  Many of the performers are familiar faces from previous Lyric performances and bring some of their best performances to date.  Great singing and acting will keep those in attendance ready for more by the time the show is over.

“Annie” is a musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan.   The musical’s songs “Tomorrow” and “It’s the Hard-Knock Life” are its more popular pieces.  The Lyric’s production of “Annie” is directed by Nancy Jo Humfeld.

Tickets cost $10 each and are currently available at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce office at 600 E. Depot or online at BrownwoodLyricTheatre.com.   Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more by calling 325-998-2801.
