A graveside funeral service for Ann Bufe Tucker, age 71, of Early, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Priddy under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
Mrs. Tucker passed away at her home on Sunday, March 16, 2014.
Nelda Ann Bufe Tucker was born on March 15, 1943 in Hamilton to Fritz and Meta (Schramm) Bufe. She grew up in the Priddy and Pottsville area and graduated from Pottsville High School in 1961. She married Royis Tucker on October 20, 1972 in Clifton. Ann worked in the banking industry for 38 years. Her career began in the Hamilton National Bank where she worked for 10 years before moving to Brownwood after she and Royis married. In Brownwood, she went to work for First National Bank and retired from Bank of America in November of 1999.
In retirement Ann stayed busy with the Tucker Brothers Farm and Ranch operation in Eastland County up until Royis’s death. She had many hobbies in retirement, but quilting became her passion.
Ann is survived by her sister, Gloria Jean Bottlinger and husband Milton of Hamilton; two nieces, Melissa DeLaGarza and husband Sonny of Hamilton and Michelle Cantara and husband Nicholas of Hamilton; a great-niece, Carolina DeLaGarza, two great-nephews, Colton DeLaGarza and Joshua Cantara.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Royis in 2013.
Ann requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Early First United Methodist Church, 1073 Early Blvd, Early TX 76802.
