BridgesAnnGraveside funeral services for Ann Bridges, age 99, of Brownwood, Texas are pending will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Chaplain Tony King officiating under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  Mrs. Bridges passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 in a local nursing home.

Annie Arie was born on January 13, 1917 in Edmonton, Kentucky to L.W. and Viola Romines Garmon.  She was a 1936 graduate of Early High School and a 1940 graduate of Daniel Baker College which is now Howard Payne University.  After receiving her diploma from Daniel Baker, Ann boarded a bus to Austin, Texas to begin her long career working in the cosmetic department with Scarborough’s Department Store.   She married J.C. Bridges in Austin and he preceded her in death in 1996. After, retiring in the 1980s, Ann returned to Brownwood where she was a member of the Early First Baptist Church.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Bob Cason and wife Nancy of Brownwood.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Tristam, Larry and Joe Garmon; and sisters Velma Cason, Lorene Funderburk and Connie Jackson.
