Anita Middleton, 96 years of age, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 28, 2017 in Brownwood, Texas. Funeral services will held 2:00 PM Friday, March 31, 2017 at the at the Early First Baptist Church with Bro. Eddie Ailshie and Bill Slaymaker officiating.  Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Anita was born on December 7, 1920 to Virgil and Letha McCoy McDearmon in Cleburne, Texas.  She grew up in the Indian Creek Community in Brown County and was married to Raymond Middleton in 1937.  A member of the Early First Baptist Church since the 1940’s, Anita has always lived a simple life. She  worked hard to help support her family and had worked at numerous places including Penneys and the Fabric Mart in downtown Brownwood and later at Bealls Department Store. After retirement Anita enjoyed her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her son Larry and Angela Middleton; daughter Margie Richards; daughter-in-law Francene Middleton; brother Bill and Linda Philen, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; her aunt and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step father W.J. Philen,  husband Raymond, son Harland Middleton, sister Alvis Jones and four brothers Ray and Glenn McDearmon and Everett and Rob Philen.

Memorials may be made to the Early First Baptist Church.
