Anita Banks, age 52, of Brownwood passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Brownwood. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Christ Today Revival Center in Brownwood, with Pastor Joyce Eilers officiating.
Anita Neal Banks was born October 13, 1959 in Memphis, TN, to Theodore and Bessie (Conley) Neal. She graduated from Brownwood High School. She attended Howard Payne University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Anita then went on to The University of Texas in Arlington, where she attained her Masters Degree in Social Work. Anita was very well liked and respected by her colleges. She was also a successful business owner. Anita owned “Healthy Sno-Balls” snow cone stand in Arlington. Anita enjoyed road trips, music, and her Dallas Cowboys, win or lose. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Anita had a special place in her heart for children and always had candy and sweets at the ready, to offer them. Anita was loved by all that knew her, and her determined and ambitious spirit will be dearly missed.
Ms. Banks was preceded in death by her parents; Theodore and Bessie Neal.
Survivors include her daughter; Shay Banks, 4 brothers; Michael Neal, Sammie Neal, Larry Conley, and Barry Conley, 3 sisters: Gwen Neal, Regina Neal, and Mavis Lewis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
