Ruth Walker, age 88, of Bangs died Saturday morning at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday in the Talpa Cemetery with Rev. Benny M. Allcorn officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home of Early. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born March 21, 1921 in Talpa, the daughter of the late George and Gladys Hipsher McQueen. She was married to William Donnie Walker at Ballinger on April 1, 1936. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1982. She was a Baptist and a past member of the Moose Lodge. She was also the “Mother” of the Bangs Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years and had been a resident of Bangs since 1982. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by 2 Sons – Melvin Walker and wife Barbara of Bangs
William “Danny” Walker and wife Sandra of Bowie, Tx.
A daughter – Ruthie Rainey and husband Ronney of Bangs
10 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
