American State Bank held a ground breaking ceremony on November 17th at 2pm to celebrate the beginning of construction on the new location at 1221 Austin Avenue. Mayor Stephen Haynes, ASB officials and local civic and business leaders were in attendance for the ceremony.
American State Bank opened a branch in Early, Texas in 1998 under the leadership of Rick Kissko. Rick has been in banking for 25 years and has a variety of experience from personal banking to loans and beyond. He and his dedicated staff can assist you with any of your banking needs.
Following completion the new Brownwood branch will be the 38th ASB location across the state of Texas. ASB currently has branches in Lubbock, Abilene, Midland, Odessa and Weatherford as well as many neighboring communities. ASB considers it a privilege to be a part of the Brownwood community.
Brownwood Mayor Stephen Haynes expressed his excitement of the new expansion of ASB.
“I see a bank as a sign of progress,” stated Haynes. “I’m excited about the location here on Austin Avenue. This location will give an old neighborhood a fresh look.”
Past Mayor of Brownwood, Bert Massey also attended the groundbreaking and stated that banks represented strength in communities. He explained that growth and development is dependent on banking.
“No community is any stronger than their community banks,” said Massey.
Construction of the new ASB location will begin in a few weeks and by late summer 2011 will be fully operational according to ASB officials.
