Amalia Constancio Martinez, age 84, of Brownwood and formerly of Jimenez, Coahuila, Mexico, died Wednesday, March 13, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with her son, Jesus Martinez, pastor of Christ is the Answer Ministries of Bangs officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.
She was born March 14, 1928, in Mexico, and had lived in Brown County since 1979. She was married to Jose Martinez in Mexico and was a homemaker. She was an active member of the Christ is the Answer Ministries (Ministerio Cristo Es La Respuesta) in Bangs and loved to sing.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Martinez of Brownwood; her children, Eva Villalpando from Jiminez, Coahuila, Mexico, Abelina Escobar from Comanche, Agapito Martinez from Early, Jose Luis Martinez from Early, Juan Martinez from Brownwood, Enrique Martinez from Brownwood, Maria Rodriquez from Brownwood, Thomas Martinez from Brownwood, Jesus Martinez from Bangs and Fabian Martinez from Brownwood; 28 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; brother, Jesus Constancio from Brownwood; three sister, Dora Hurtado from Uvalde, Maria Perez from Brownwood and Rosa Reyes from Abilene; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by father, Jesus Constancio; mother, Maxima Constancio; sister, Ramona Acevedo; and a brother, Gilberto Constancio.
