Funeral Services for Alvis Charles Swinney, age 81, of Lake Brownwood will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday July 16, 2010 at the Lake Brownwood First Baptist Church with Art Switzer officiating, interment to follow in Weedon Cemetery under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home. Mr. Swinney passed away Wednesday July 14, 2010 at his home.
Alvis was born February 8, 1929 in Bailey, Tx to the late Frank Thomas and Lena (Davis) Swinney. He married Bobbye Burns on December 24, 1988 in Odessa, Tx. Alvis worked as a machinist and was a member of the Lake Brownwood Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Bobbye Swinney of Lake Brownwood; Daughters, Cheryl Halliburton and husband Daulton of Cedar Park, Tx, Judy Julian and husband David of Stephenville, Janice Norwood and husband Davis of Clyde, and Charlie Walker of Bailey, Tx; step children, Pamela Kimbrell and husband Ron of Odessa, Karen Hildebrand and husband Doug of Odessa, and Paul Piper and wife Joyce of Odessa; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Russell of Wolfe City, Tx; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, June Henry.
