Alva C. “Buddy” Witcher, Jr. passed away on Thursday, November 1st, 2018 after several months of health struggles. Buddy was born in Littlefield, TX on March 1st, 1953 to Alva C. Witcher and Louella Holmes Witcher. Buddy grew up in Littlefield and graduated from high school there. He went on to work for Texas Department of Transportation in Littlefield. In 1977 he met the love of his life, Delores Murrell and they married on October 27th, 1978. They had 2 children together, Jason and Amber. Buddy worked for TxDOT in Littlefield and Brownwood for 37 years total. He attended the Early Church of Christ for 30 years, served as a deacon for some of that time, volunteered at the Lake Cisco Christian Camp for 28 years, worked as a Band Booster for the Brownwood High School Band for 10 years, did woodwork and crafts and so much more for many families in the community. He always enjoyed visiting with everyone he met through his family, work, church, selling concessions at football games, the craft sales and the families of kids his wife Dee babysat. He was a behind the scenes kind of guy but left a lasting impression on all he knew.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, many uncles and aunts, 4 brother-in-laws and 1 sister-in-law. He is survived by his wife Delores; son Jason Witcher, his wife Ashleigh and their daughters Addison and Ryleigh; daughter Amber Gaudette, her husband Tim and their daughter Sloan; sisters Carolyn Hakes and LaJuana Chester, 3 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws, 2 uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services for Buddy will be held on Sunday, November 4that 2:00pm at the Early Church of Christ with a visitation reception following.  Davis-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Buddy Witcher.
