Howard Payne University’s School of Music and Fine Arts will present a special Homecoming art exhibit showcasing work from award-winning HPU alumnus Michael Gillespie ’69.
Gillespie’s artwork has sold around the world, and he has received commissions from institutions and companies such as HPU, Exxon, Verizon, IBM, the Texas Ranger Museum and Scottish Rite Hospital, as well as a number of individuals. Gillespie has also created murals for Black-eyed Pea Restaurants, Alamo Café and more.
Gillespie currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Dallas Baptist University.
The exhibit is being held on the first floor of the university’s Doakie Day Art Center, 1308 Center Avenue, weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Oct. 20, as well as Saturday, Oct. 15. For more information, please contact HPU’s School of Music and Fine Arts at 325-649-8500.
