HillerBuddyFuneral services for Alton (Buddy) Hiller age 80, of Brownwood, Texas will be held 10:30 AM Monday, May 19th, 2014, at the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Boeglin and Pastor Curtis W. Schneider officiating.  Interment will be at 2:30 PM in the Burkett Cemetary in Coleman County.  The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.  Buddy, as known by family and friends, went to be with The Lord Friday morning, May 16, 2014.

Alton John Hiller was born December 17, 1933 in Priddy, Texas to John Wilhelm and Irma Kuklis Hiller.  He was raised in Winters, Texas and served in the United States Navy.  He was married to May Pearl Gould Hiller on November 11, 2000 and she preceded him in death in July, 2008.  He then married Loreta Smith in Brady, Texas on May 9, 2009.  He lived in the Abilene area where he retired from Pride Oil as a diesel mechanic after 37 years of service before moving to Brownwood, Texas.  Mr. Hiller attended Grace Lutheran Church and later the Central Methodist Church, both in Brownwood, Texas.

Buddy’s favorite past times were hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, dancing, and most of all, loved being around his family.  He was a very kind hearted, generous man, and  beloved by his family.

Survivors include his wife – Loreta Hiller of Brownwood; step children Craig Smith and wife Janalee of Keller and Kathy Grimes of Abilene; three step grandchildren; nephews Tony and Matt Hiller and a niece, Susan Hiller.

Buddy is also survived by a son, Clayton Gould and wife Suzanne of San Angelo, a daughter, Celia Drury and husband Larry of Bangs; four grandchildren, Brynna and Bradley Gould, Greg Drury and wife Melissa Kay of Bangs, Melissa Ereman and husband Lonnie of Brownwood; great grandchildren Chris, Jeremy, and Amanda Gober of Brownwood, Doug and Lexy Drury of Bangs; one great great grandson, Rylan Gober of Brownwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one older sister, Valeda Hiller Beacham and one younger brother, Ralph Hiller.
