PreasAllenDeanAllen Dean Preas, age 65, of Coleman, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at a Dallas hospital.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at Bible Baptist Church, 1015 Commercial Avenue, Coleman, with Dr. Don Northway officiating.  Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Allen Dean Preas was born December 5, 1950 in Abilene, Texas, a son of Allen E. Preas and Billie Pyles Preas.  He grew up in Amarillo, Coleman and Abilene where he also attended school.  In the 1960s, he moved with his family back to Coleman.  He married Rita White on June 22, 1968 in Coleman.  Following their marriage, they lived in Snyder, Breckenridge and Big Spring, where he was employed with an oil field service.  In the 1980s he returned to live in Coleman where he owned and operated Allen’s Upholstery Shop.   He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.  He also collected guns and knives and enjoyed working on cars.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Preas of Coleman; two sons, Sonny Preas and Jason Preas both of Coleman; one brother, Wesley Preas of Coleman; an aunt, Jo Ann Carroll of Richland Springs; several cousins.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.
