Alfred Lloyd Creel, age 90, moved from his earthly home to his mansion in Heaven on January 6, 2016. Heaven’s gain is our loss. His life was greatly influenced by his love for the Lord and fulfilling his call into the ministry for 67 years including pastoring several churches. He was a devoted husband, father, grand, great, and great-great grandfather.
Alfred was born on August 16, 1925, in Coleman, Texas to Eddie Early Andrew Jackson and Ruby Bernice Tomlinson Creel. After graduating from High School, Alfred joined the U. S. Marines and served our country in WW II, 1943-1946. He then married his sweetheart, Ruby Jean Lancaster, in Coleman. God joined them as one flesh which set the example to their children of what a marriage should be.Alfred was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God for 58 years. He was also the founding pastor of Trinity Chapel (now Freedom Fellowship) in Early.
Alfred is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 69½ years, two sons, Wayne and Peggy Creel of Early and Gary and Debora Creel of Burton; two daughters, Sandra and Larry Collom of Ira and Sherry and Fred Pipes of Frisco; six grandchildren, Donald and Sherri Hurst of Ohio, Tonya and Harry Rossmoine of San Antonio, Alicia and Derrick Stacks of Early, Tabitha and Clint Schwarz of Weatherford, Charisse and Clint Sneddeker of Frisco, and Chana and Joe Navarro of Little Elm; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; Cody and Candace Fedler and son, Skip; Jaclyn and Jacob Fernandez and daughter, Juliette; Justin Hurst, Melisa and Jake Butler and son, James; Braeden, Grant, Ashlyn Stacks; Brooke, Kassidy and Lainey Schwarz; Hudson Sneddeker; Lainey, Kynlee and Lilliana Navarro; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edwin and Robert Creel and two sisters, Bernice Lawrence and Norma Armstrong Middleton.
A celebration of his life will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church in Early on Saturday, January 9th, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Maxwell officiating assisted by Bishop Bob Jayne of San Marcos. A time of celebration in song will precede the service at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Heartland Funeral Home.
