A memorial service for Alfred Braxton “Brax” Burcham, Jr., age 67, of Bangs, will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Victory Life Church.
Brax passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
Cremation is under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Alfred Braxton Burcham, Jr. was born on September 12, 1947 in Big Spring to Alfred Braxton Burcham, Sr. and Lucy Maye (Connally) Burcham of Rising Star. Brax went into the U.S. Army in 1967, where he worked on a supply ship during the Vietnam War.
In 1969 he married his first wife Betty Jo Stuard. Together they had three children. Later, in 1983, he married his wife of 32 years, Linda Avants Burcham of Bangs. They had two sons together.Brax was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Avants Burcham of Bangs; two daughters, Gaila Crick of Aledo and Amanda Huddleston and husband Johnny of Coleman; three sons, Jonathan Burcham and wife Jacque of Brownwood, Daniel Burcham and wife Jennifer of Bangs, and Dusty Burcham of Bangs; three sisters, Rachel Jones, Jessie Manas, and Bonnie Stanke and husband Bob, all of Abilene; a brother, James Burcham and wife Connie of Rising Star; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
