Brownwood News – The Brown County Commissioners will meet, at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019, in the Brown County Courthouse in Brownwood to discuss a number of items posted on the agenda.

 

 

Notice is hereby given that the regularly scheduled meeting of the above named Court shall be held at 9:00 a.m. on May 13, 2019, in the COMMISSIONERS’ COURTROOM, at the Brown County Courthouse, 200 South Broadway St., Brownwood Texas, 76801 and shall continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

1. Declare a Quorum and Call Meeting to Order

2. Prayer

3. Citizen Comments {Any resident of Brown County may speak before the court on any agenda item. Any topic to be addressed that is not on the agenda may be heard with the approval of a majority of the Court present. No presentation shall last longer than five minutes. All speakers will be required to adhere to the rules of procedure, conduct and decorum adopted by the Court on October 6, 2014. The court members may not respond to any speaker making a citizen comment. [Court members may not comment, ask or answer questions until an agenda item is introduced for consideration below.] Any disruptive, abusive, obscene, or disrespectful behavior will be terminated immediately.)

4. Consideration and approval of minutes of May 6th, 2019.

5. Consideration and Approval of Payment of any bills needed ·

6. Consideration and Approval of all appropriate action regarding the following:

A. A. Mr. Gary Worley, Commissioner Pct. 1- Consideration and possible approval of action regarding fireworks during the Memorial Day season;

B. Mr. Joel Kelton, Commissioner Pct. 2 – Consideration and possible approval of action regarding burn ban;

C. Mr. Joel Kelton, Commissioner Pct. 2 – Consideration and possible approval of an equipment purchase;

D. Ann Krpoun, County Treasurer (span pl) – Presentation of quarterly investment report;

E. Larry Franks, Elections Administrator (span cj) – Consideration and Possible Approval of out of state travel for Larry Franks to attend the National Election Center conference and Graduation Ceremony in Orlando, Fl. for Larry’s graduation from the Professional Education Program with the designation of CERA (Certified Election/Registration Administrator). This travel will primarily be funded from Chapter 19 funds which come from the Secretary of State’s Office through reimbursement;

F. Shane Britton, County Attorney (span cj) — Presentation of Texas Historical Commission requirements for a Certified Local Government committee for possible future action;

7. Adjournment

Agenda items may be considered, deliberated, and/or acted upon in a different order than set forth above. The Brown County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any above items in executive (closed) session whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
