Written by Scott Anderson – The Annual Ag Day program is set for Tuesday evening March 28, 2017. This program is intended to keep area ag producers up to date on the newest herbicides for weed control in hay fields and how the latest developments with cattle fever ticks will impact their beef cattle.

 

The program will be held at the Brown County Fairgrounds located 4206 HWY 377 South Brownwood, Texas. It will begin at 5:30pm with a meal sponsored by Brown County Farm Bureau.

Topics and speakers include:

  • Spring weed control in hay fields and pastures
    • Dr. Larry Redmon, Extension Specialist, College Station
  • Cattle Fever Tick Situation – How will affect our area
    • Dr. Bruce Carpenter, Extension Specialist, Ft. Stockton

There will be a $15 registration fee payable at the door. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by March 20, 2017 by contacting the Brown County Extension Office at 325-646-0386 so that proper meal preparations can be made. Three (3) CEU’s will be offered to licensed pesticide applicators.
