amberLoweryAn affidavit for search warrant and probable cause affidavit filed with the Comanche County Justice of the Peace office reveals some additional information about the disappearance of Amber Lowery and the arrest of her husband Michael Lowery who was jailed Tuesday night for the alleged murder of his wife.

The search warrant includes a list of evidence that law enforcement officials are searching for at the couple’s residence Wednesday including the body of Amber Lowery, the document states.  The residence is located about 6 miles southeast of Rising Star inside Comanche County.

A witness listed in the documents told authorities that she provided Lowery, who was carrying an infant in a car seat, with a ride from Rising Star to a gate at the couple’s home last Wednesday. The witness identified the man as Michael Lowery after she later saw a television interview of him, according to the search warrant.  The witness also told police that she had seen him walking from a laundry mat where Amber Lowery’s abandon vehicle was later found before she picked him up.   The documents also state that another witness saw Lowery driving the vehicle in the area earlier last Wednesday.

The affidavits also describe relative’s accounts of a violent relationship between Michael Lowery and his wife, Amber. One relative told police that the suspect “was constantly abusing Amber both physically and verbally, threatening to ‘make her disappear.’”

The suspect told police that he last saw his wife drive away from their residence around 9:45 PM on Tuesday, July 23rd.  She was reported missing the next day by her brother when she didn’t show up for a meeting with him that morning.

The documents state that Michael Lowery was driving to work to Sabine Pass last Tuesday when he received a text message from his wife that afternoon that she was filing for divorce.   The suspect told police that he turned around to head home and arrived at approximately 9:30 PM on the July 23rd and Amber left in her Honda CR-V about 15 minutes later.   Her vehicle was found abandoned on Saturday at the laundry mat.

Michael Lowery, 34, was arrested in Brown County Tuesday night and transported to Comanche County Wednesday morning on the charge of murder.  He is being held on $1 million in bonds.

As of Wednesday evening, authorities are still searching the Lowery property for evidence in the case.
