Funeral services for Adolfo D. “Rudy” Garcia, age 66, of Brownwood will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. Mr. Garcia died Monday, May 31, 2010 in a local nursing facility.
Adolfo was born September 26, 1943 in Brady to Felix Garcia and Maria Perez. He married Sylvia Barrera on October 19, 1964 in Brady. Adolfo served his country in Texas National Guard for 22 years. He worked for 3M Company for 24 years before retiring. He was a faithful member of Saint Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church where he was active in the Knights of Columbus. He also served as a youth soccer coach, volunteered with Good Samaritan Ministries and Meals on Wheels.
Adolfo is survived by his two sons, Samuel Garcia and wife Christie of Everett, Washington and Albert Garcia and wife Michelle of Italy; four granddaughters, Meagan, Emily, Hannah and Elena Garcia; many loving brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and dear friends, Rafe and Becky Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 44 years, Sylvia Garcia on November 28, 2008.
