PensonAn account has been set up at TexasBank to help the family who lost their home in a fire early Christmas Eve morning on 3rd Street in Brownwood.

Five people lived in the rental house including Brownwood’s animal control officer Nick Ferguson; Amy Abernathy, the kennel manager and cruelty investigator at the Corinne T. Smith Animal Shelter; and three girls ages 17, 15, and 1.   The fire gutted the home and the family lost all of their belongings.

The family received numerous donations over the holiday, but more help is needed to help find this family a permanent home and replace their belongings.   Those interested in donating can go to TexasBank and give money to the Nick Ferguson account.

Several family pets died in the fire, but one of their pets, a 6-year-old pit/pointer mix dog, ran away during the fire.  His name is Pensn and the family has been searching for him.  If anyone spots Pensn (pictured above), please call 325-646-2525.
