Brownwood 14U Cubs Loses Lead Early In Defeat To Blooming Grove Black

Press Release – Brownwood 14U Cubs watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 19-12 loss to Blooming Grove Black on Friday. Blooming Grove Black scored on a walk by Sergio Watkins in the first inning.

 

Brownwood 14U Cubs lost despite out-hitting Blooming Grove Black 16 to 13.

Blooming Grove Black took an early lead in the first inning. Brandon Hamrick walked Sergio Watkins with the bases loaded to drive in a run.

Blooming Grove Black scored seven runs in the second inning. Blooming Grove Black’s big inning was driven by a error, a home run by Justus Revill, a double by Watkins, and a home run by Houston Rodgers.

Jaasiel Aceves earned the win for Blooming Grove Black. He went two-thirds of an inning, allowing four runs, two hits, and walking zero. Hamrick took the loss for Brownwood 14U Cubs. He tossed one inning, giving up six runs, three hits, and walking one.

Rodgers started the game for Blooming Grove Black. He went one and one-third innings, surrendering three runs, six hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Home runs for Brownwood 14U Cubs came when Jayden Cain homered in the second inning, Jeremy Martinez homered in the fourth and sixth innings, and Khyren Deal homered in the fourth inning.
