STATE 4-H ROUNDUP MANDATORY MEETING

There will be a mandatory meeting for all participants in the State 4-H Roundup on Monday June 6th at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Extension Office. We will be finalizing plans for the State Roundup. If you are going to State Roundup it is very important that you be present for the meeting.  You will need to bring your thank you letters the night of the meeting. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office.

COUNTY FASHION SHOW

The Brown County 4-H Fashion Show is set for June 27, 2011 at 5:30p.m.. The location of the County Fashion Show will be at the Home Economics Building at the Youth Fair Barns. The categories you can enter in are as follows: Buying, Constructions, Storyboard, and Non-Apparel. The buying category you can enter dress type and pant type. The construction category you can enter dressy, single garment, specialty, and sportswear/casual. The non-apparel category you can enter non-apparel sewing, jewelry, and embellished apparel. The deadline to turn in entry forms is June 20, 2011. If you have any questions, please contact the Extension Office.

2011 LEADERSHIP LAB

District 7 and 10 Council Teams have joined forces to create a Leadership Lab you will never forget! The event will be held June 29-July 1, 2011 at the one and only Texas 4-H Conference Center in Brownwood, Texas. Come and join other 4-Her’s from District 7 and 10 and enjoy three days and three nights of fun as we work together to build leadership skills and character necessary for success! There will be four outstanding and innovative workshops that you can take back to your counties. They include: Parliamentary Procedure, Thinking Outside the Box, Communication & Marketing, and Creative Leadership Strategies. The deadline to register for Leadership Lab is May 31st and registration is on 4-H Connect. If you would like more information contact the Extension Office.

DISTRICT 7 4-H BEEF WORKSHOP

The District 7 4-H Beef Project Committee is proud to announce an Educational Workshop / Field Day to be held at Jacoby’s in Melvin, Texas. The committee has put this program together to enhance the educational opportunities of youth involved in 4-H and FFA Beef Projects and adults wishing to learn more about beef production. The workshop will be on June 8, 2011 beginning at 9:30am. The cost of the workshop is $20 per person which will include the noon meal. Attendance is limited to the first 50 people to register. Contact the McCulloch County Extension Office at 325-596-1295 before noon on Monday, June 6th to register.

2011 TEXAS 4-H GOLF CHALLENGE

If you are interested in being on a 4-H Golf Team and participating in a Golf Challenge now is your chance! There is going to be a Golf Challenge held in Lubbock at the Meadowbrook Golf Course on July 6th. If you would like more information please contact the Extension Office. The deadline to register on 4-H Connect is June 24th but still contact the Extension Office if you are planning on participating.                        

TEXAS 4-H ROPING SCHOOL

The 2011 Texas 4-H Roping School is set for June 19-23, 2011 at Tarleton State University. We are still accepting applications if you are interested in participating in the Roping School. The cost will be $380.00 per person, which includes meals, lodging, and a one horse stall. The Roping School is designed to teach beginning and advanced ropers. If you have any questions or need more information contact the Extension Office.                  

TAYLOR COUNTY TO HOST A TEXAS A&M HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC

Taylor County 4-H Horse Club will host a Texas A&M Horsemanship Clinic May 30-June 1, 2011 at the Taylor County Expo Center Covered Outdoor Arena. Cost is $100 for all three days. The clinic will cover basic horsemanship, tack, bitting and horse theft awareness. All Ages welcome!  If you would like more information, or to sign up early, call Cindy Easley at 325-668-6266.

TOM GREEN COUNTY TO HOST A TEXAS A&M HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC

Tom Green 4-H Horse Club will be hosting a Texas A&M Horsemanship Clinic June 17-18, 2011 at the Angelo Indoor Arena (Formerly Bly Arena). The time of the clinic will be 8:00am-5:00pm. The cost for the two day clinic is $75, due before the clinic starts (non-refundable). Stalls and RV hookups will be available for a fee. A&M AGGIE LAND LAMB & GOAT CAMPS

Texas A&M is hosting a three day program dedicated to teaching parents and students the fundamentals of feeding, nutrition, health, facilities, selection and showmanship. The Lamb Camp will be July 15-17, 2011 and Goat Camp will be July 22-24, 2011. The location of the camp will be in College Station, Texas at the Pearce Pavilion. The cost of the camps is $120 per camper and $60 per adult. Anyone ages eight years old and older are eligible to participate. If you would like more information contact the Extension Office.
