MAJOR STOCK SHOW MONIES
Did you participate in a Major Stock Show? If you did you may have some money waiting for you at the Extension Office. If you put an animal on the truck at any of the major stock shows you will have a truck check here at the Extension Office. Please come by or contact the Extension Office if you think you have a check.
4-H SPAGHETTI LUNCHEON FUND-RAISER
It is that time again to start making Spaghetti! The Annual Spaghetti Luncheon is on June 3rd. Sales have begun but we still need more volunteers to sell, make spaghetti, bake cookies, work prep day and day of the sale, and Adult Volunteers to drive on the day of delivery. The last day to turn in orders is May 27th. If you are interested in participating in the Annual Spaghetti Fund raiser please contact the Extension Office to let us know what it is you would like to do.
COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS
If you are interested in serving on the Brown County 4-H Council please contact the Extension Office to get an application and schedule an interview time before May 27th and the actual date of interviews will be May 31st. If you have any questions in regards to the officer elections please contact the Extension Office.
4-H FUN DAY
June 1st is the date for the 4-H Fun Day at the 4-H Center! It is going to be a day of swimming, rock climbing, obstacle courses, and a day to learn more about 4-H and what it has to offer! If you are interested in participating at the Fun Day you will need to register and pay your money to the Extension Office by May 16th.The cost for the Fun Day will $10 a child and it will last from 9a.m.-4p.m..
2011 LEADERSHIP LAB
District 7 and 10 Council Teams have joined forces to create a Leadership Lab you will never forget! The event will be held June 29-July 1, 2011 at the one and only Texas 4-H Conference Center in Brownwood, Texas. Come and join other 4-Her’s from District 7 and 10 and enjoy three days and three nights of fun as we work together to build leadership skills and character necessary for success! There will be four outstanding and innovative workshops that you can take back to your counties. They include: Parliamentary Procedure, Thinking Outside The Box, Communication & Marketing, and Creative Leadership Strategies. The deadline to register for Leadership Lab is May 31st and registration is on 4-H Connect. If you would like more information contact the Extension Office.
CHEF AT CAMP
If you are interested in learning more about cooking and food & nutrition well there is a camp just for that!! The Chef at Camp is going to be June 6-10, 2011 at the Texas 4-H Center. Every day you will get to learn something new such as: Kitchen 101 and Breads, All About Desserts, Get Your Fruit and Veggies and 4-H Healthy Lifestyles and Use Your Best Manners! You will also get the experience of other activities the 4-H Center has to offer such as Swimming, Kayaking and Teambuilding. Registration is on the Texas 4-H Conference Center Web Site which is texas4hcenter.tamu.edu. If you would like more information on this camp contact the Extension Office.
TAYLOR COUNTY OPEN 4-H HORSE SHOW
Taylor County 4-H is holding a Open 4-H Horse Show on May 21, 2011 at the Taylor County Expo Center in the Horse Barn. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and classes start at 9:00 a.m.. Age divisions are 13 / under, 14/18, and All age open show. Cost is $10 per class with a $50 maximum. If you would like more information please contact the Extension Office.
RECORD BOOK TRAININGS
There are two remaining dates available if you would like to attend a Record Book Training. If you are not able to attend a training and needing assistance or guidance in doing your Record Book you can contact Nick Gonzales at the Extension Office. The deadline to turn in Records Books is June 20th.

2011 TEXAS 4-H GOLF CHALLENGE
If you are interested in being on a 4-H Golf Team and participating in a Golf Challenge now is your chance! There is going to be a Golf Challenge held in Lubbock at the Meadowbrook Golf Course on July 6th. If you would like more information please contact the Extension Office. The deadline to register on 4-H Connect is June 1st but still contact the Extension Office if you are planning on participating.
TAYLOR COUNTY TO HOST A TEXAS A&M HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC
Taylor County 4-H Horse Club will host a Texas A&M Horsemanship Clinic May 30-June 1, 2011 at the Taylor County Expo Center Covered Outdoor Arena. Cost is $100 for all three days. The clinic will cover basic horsemanship, tack, bitting and horse theft awareness. All Ages welcome! TOM GREEN COUNTY TO HOST A TEXAS A&M HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC
Tom Green 4-H Horse Club will be hosting a Texas A&M Horsemanship Clinic June 17-18, 2011 at the Angelo Indoor Arena (Formerly Bly Arena). The time of the clinic will be 8:00a.m.-5:00p.m.. The cost for the two day clinic is $75 due before the clinic starts (non-refundable). Stalls and RV hookups will be available for a fee. A&M AGGIE LAND LAMB & GOAT CAMPS
Texas A&M is hosting a three day program dedicated to teaching parents and students the fundamentals of feeding, nutrition, health, facilities, selection and showmanship. The Lamb Camp will be July 15-17, 2011 and Goat Camp will be July 22-24, 2011. The location of the camp will be in College Station, Texas at the Pearce Pavilion. The cost of the camp is $120 per camper and $60 per adult. Anyone ages eight years old and older are eligible to participate. If you would like more information contact the Extension Office.
