ADULT LEADER AND COUNTY COUNCIL MEETING
There is going to be a Adult Leader / County Council meeting on April 25, 2011 at 6:00p.m. at the Brown County Extension Office. We would like for all adult leaders and county council officers to attend the meeting. If you have any questions please contact the Extension Office.
STATE FAIR PIG TAGS
If you are planning on showing a pig at the State Fair you will need to purchase a tag. The tags are $10 a tag. Please contact the Extension Office if you are needing to purchase a tag.
FASHION SHOW
If you are interested in participating in the Senior or Junior / Intermediate Fashion Show it is for 4-H members the age of 9-18. You can participate in construction, buying and fashion story board. Please contact the Brown County Extension Office and get your name on the list. County contest will be held if necessary. District Senior fashion show is May 7 in San Angelo. The Junior / Intermediate District Fashion Show is July 19th. If you need more information please contact the Extension Office.
DISTRICT 7 4-H ROUNDUP
District 7 4-H Roundup is on Saturday May 7 in San Angelo. It will consist of many events that Brown County 4-Hers can compete in; such as public speaking, fashion show, beef presentations and many more. 4-Hers must compete and qualify during District Roundup to compete in State 4-H Round, so If you are interested in more information contact the Extension Office at 325-646-0386.
2011 TEXAS 4-H GOLF CHALLENGE
If you are interested in being on a 4-H Golf Team and participating in a Gold Challenge now is your chance! There is going to be a Golf Challenge held in Lubbock at the MeadowBrook Golf Course on July 6th. If you would like more information please contact the Extension Office by April 10th.
HORSE VALIDATION
If you are planning on participating in the District or State Horse Show or you have a Futurity Horse you must have your horse validated by May 1st. The cost is $10 per horse. If you need more information please contact the Extension Office.
TAYLOR COUNTY TO HOST A TEXAS A&M HORSEMANSHIP CLINIC
Taylor County 4-H Horse Club will host a Texas A&M Horsemanship Clinic May 30-June 1, 2011 at the Taylor County Expo Center Covered Outdoor Arena. Cost is $100 for all three days. The clinic will cover basic horsemanship, tack, bitting and horse theft awareness. All Ages welcome! INVITATIONAL LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST AT 4-H ROUNDUP
There will be a Invitational Livestock Judging Contest during the 4-H Roundup that is held in College Station. The contest is going to be on June 16th at 9:00a.m.. The contest will also have a workshop a the conclusion of the contest. It is open to Seniors and Intermediates. If you are interested in participating please contact the Extension Office by April 18th.
HOWARD COLLEGE LAMB & GOAT CAMP
The 2011 Howard College Goat Showmanship Camp is set for June 5, 6, & 7, 2011 and the Lamb Showmanship Camp is set for June 12, 13, & 14, 2011. The charge for the camp is $85.00 per person it includes four meals and a camp tee shirt or cap. Add $20 per goat or lamb provided by Howard College. If possible bring your own goat or lamb for demonstration purposes. Participants must be 9 years old or entering the 3rd garde. 58TH ANNUAL BLANKET FFA RODEO
The Annual Blanket FFA Rodeo is set for May 6th-7th at Blanket Rodeo Arena. The Rodeo will kick off each night at 7:00p.m. The order of events are Bulls, Jr. Bulls, Calf Riding, Mutton Bustin, Donkey Race, Barrels, Roping, and Poles. Jackpot nightly at a 50% payback.
