Brownwood Soccer Club will host a national qualifier 3V3 Extreme Soccer tour stop at Coggin Park on April 20th.

This tournament will bring soccer teams from across the state to Brownwood according to organizers.  Brownwood Soccer Club officials said that close to 50 teams have registered for the tournament.

Games will start at 8:00 AM on Saturday, April 20th.  Games have been scheduled so that they will not conflict with any Cen-Tex Soccer games.  There will be medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division with the top teams qualifying for the national tournament at the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney Land.

Four members of the Brownwood Soccer Club, U10 girls, have already qualified to compete in the national tournament.  These young girls are pictured above:  (left to right) Watts Jones, Lillie Deeds, Armani Lopez, Lainee Lancaster.  The team is going in as a top seed in the national tournament, according to Brownwood Soccer Club officials.  If they are victorious at Nationals, they have the chance to bring home a world title in January, said Brownwood Soccer Club organizer Hollie Lancaster.

After moving back to Brownwood after living in the McKinney area for two years, Michael and Hollie Lancaster decided to form the Brownwood Soccer Club and now host 3v3 games all over the state of Texas.  These tournaments will be held every weekend in the summer.

“We got back to Brownwood and decided to help kids here get experience and improve their footwork like the kids in the metroplex,” said Mrs. Lancaster.  “The club is growing so much now we need a larger building.”

She stated that there were approximately 200 members in the club, which also trains indoor throughout the year.
