The 2014 Brownwood Reunion Celebration had a great second day with large crowds enjoying the attractions, competitions, food, and music. All of the fun continued throughout the day and was capped off on the main stage by concerts including Southern Cross, Brownwood’s Got Talent Winner Cameron Seale (pictured above) and Restless Heart.
Saturday’s events began with the annual 5K/10K run, and over 300 participants took to the downtown streets to race to the finish line. That event was immediately followed by the Feels Like Home Grand Parade.
The Classic Car Show in the Brownwood Coliseum was also buzzing all day Saturday with activity, and showcased over 50 classic vehicles and motorcycles. The entire festival area was filled with the smell of great food not only from the food court, but also from this year’s BBQ cook-off.
Great music was also all around the festival area with three stages throughout the festival in addition to the main Celebration Stage including the Carnegie Corner stage, Home Town Hero stage, and Front Porch Pickin’ stage.
There was plenty to see and do throughout Saturday’s festivities including mini-train rides at the Martin and Lehnis Railroad Museum, Kids Zone, Brownwood’s got Talent competition, carnival rides and many vendors offering a variety of merchandise.
The Hands on a House competition also continued with organizers throwing extra challenges to the contestants. There were 8 contestants left in the contest as of 7:00 p.m. Saturday.
The Brownwood Reunion Celebration will continue Sunday, September 21st offering a community worship service in the morning with concerts by The Andersons, Erica Group and 4Him along with more food, activities and fun.
