The 2014 Brown County Youth Fair wrapped up Saturday night with the annual awards and premium sale and the crowning of this year’s Miss Brown County Fair Association.
The evening began with Jacey Guest of Early FFA being crowned Miss BCFA.
Top buyer awards for 2013 were presented to Landmark Life, Putter Jarvis; Diamond P Enterprises, Domingo Perez; and O & B Farms, Hans Bonnema.
The Steve Rumfeld Memorial Scholarship was presented by the Rumfeld family. This $500 scholarship was awarded to Matthew Lewis of Brownwood FFA.
Although not part of the auction, grand and reserve champion winners along with showmanship winners of the Horse Division were also recognized for their participation and hard work.
The auction was the main event of the evening, with an arena packed with buyers along with supporting family and friends. Each livestock exhibitor was allowed to sell one animal which made the sale by placing in the top 75% of their competing class during the fair in the market animal divisions, with the exception of the rabbits division where the grand and reserve champions along with the third and fourth places sell.
