Riverside Park in Brownwood was the place to be on Saturday as local car club the Heartland Cruisers put together their annual car show.
The 2013 Heartland Rod Run attracted a large crowd of car enthusiasts and collectors wanting to get a look at some of the great entries in this year’s show. Organizers said that this year featured about 300 entries including cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
There were also plenty of fun activities including the exciting burnout contest and panty dash. The burnout contest drew a large crowd of spectators who wanted to see vehicles “smoke out” the competition.
The Heartland Cruisers distributed numerous awards for the most popular entries in the show by category.
This year’s “Best of Show” award went to local car enthusiast Domingo Perez with his 1937 Chevy Pickup (pictured at top). Perez donated his $500 prize back to the Heartland Cruisers car club.
