Wednesday, the rabbit show began at the 2012 Brown County Youth Fair with Breeding and Market Rabbits at 3:00pm and lasted well into late evening finishing up with Breeding Rabbits. Carrol Hooks, an American Rabbit Breeders Association judge, saw to it that participants learned about not only how to show their rabbits but also basics about their particular breeds. Grand and Reserve Champions were chosen for both Meat and Breeding Categories. Junior and Senior Showmanship Awards were also awarded.
Regarding the Senior Showmanship award, this year there was a tie, Kott decided to present two winners. After asking Brown County Fair officials, Kott offered to purchase a second showmanship banner.
“I had to award them both, because both of these young men were deserving of the award,” stated Kott.
