There are 487 youth involved in 4-H in Brown County. Brown County Judge Ray West commented on the positive impact that 4-H and similar programs have in the lives of kids.
“This court is committed to 4-H,” stated West. “As a juvenile judge, these 487 kids won’t be seeing me. They are engaged in activities that keep them off of the streets and involved.”
Other programs mentioned by the extension agents were the Food & Nutrition Bowl Challenge which is similar to the Iron Chef television reality show, Walk Across Texas, and Organ Wise Guys for public school children.
