crowdShot_wrapupCommittee members and organizers for the 9th Annual Brownwood Reunion Celebration held their final meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Reunion and how each event was handled.

Organizers had overwhelmingly positive comments from the public who attended the Reunion this year and calls and email are still coming in.

The Heartland Cruisers Classic Car Show was recognized as one of the most popular attractions.  They estimate that over 5000 people attended the event held at the Brownwood Coliseum.

Also recognized was the Children’s Parade which they hope to expand for the next Reunion. The 5k run also had the largest number of runners ever.

Also noted was that 7840 aluminum cans were collected for recycling efforts. Money raised from recycling will go to the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center.

Brownwood Police Department also reported very little criminal activity during the Reunion.  Sgt. Troy Carroll said that only two arrests were made for trespassing as individuals were caught trying to climb the grain silos.  There was also one citation for a minor in possession of alcohol and a couple of small fights.  Carroll said that it went very smooth overall.

Coordinator Randee Green said, “I know it (the Reunion) makes an economic impact on our community.” Green thanked all of the helpers and volunteers for their efforts and complimented the work that each person contributed

Green left a thank you note on each volunteer’s seat at the meeting saying “Thank You for making #9 the BEST REUNION EVER”
