Brownwood Lions Jaxon Shipley and Derek Longoria signed letters of intent today to play college football on Wednesday.
Shipley signed with the Texas Longhorns during the National Signing Day event in Austin before the Team USA vs. the World game.
Shipley led the Lions to the Class 3A Div. II semifinals this year. Shipley caught 86 passes for over 1600 yards and 27 touchdowns.
Longoria is headed to SMU to play his college football. Longoria was the anchor of the defense from his linebacker position. He found the end zone 3 times in 2010 for Brownwood after interceptions.
Longoria’s ceremony was postponed because of weather, but has been rescheduled for 4pm on Thursday at Brownwood High School.
