The month of September is designated as Emergency Preparedness Month and on September 11th, Brownwood will host its 1st Annual Emergency Preparedness Month Fair. The Depot area will be the location and it will be filled with Emergency Services demonstrations and informational booths. At the Adams Street Community Center there will be County-Wide Citizen Emergency Response Team recruitment and informational presentations.
The Red Cross will be open for tours, Brownwood Fire Department will do a demonstration on the train car, the animal shelter will do a demonstration, Medivac will be on hand, there will be a Military display of flags as a memorial of the lives lost in Iraq, and many other activities.
During the Thunder in the Heart of Texas Motorcycle Rally, a special “Remembrance Service” will be held at Riverside Park at 8:30am to remember the lives lost in the 9-11 attacks.
Come out and have some fun, learn a little and enjoy meeting those who help keep our community safe.
