A collision of a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler Thursday afternoon left both drivers thankful the accident wasn’t worse, only causing minor damage to both vehicles and leaving the drivers uninjured.
The truck driver was hauling a load of mulch from a utility construction site off of Hwy 377 to Coleman when the accident occurred just before 3:00pm. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 pickup stated that he changed lanes and clipped the front end of the 18-wheeler. Trying to avoid striking the pickup, the truck driver had to stop with one tire up on the curb, narrowly missing a signpost and saving his vehicle from more front-end damage. Only the chrome bumper was bent on the 18-wheeler and minimal dents and scratches were left on the pickup. No injuries were reported and both men were able to drive their vehicles from the scene.
Brownwood Police Department and Brownwood Fire Department responded to the scene.
