District Attorney, Micheal Murray reports that several felony cases were recently heard in Brown/Mills County District Court, Judge Stephen Ellis presiding.

  • Kathy Marie Maxwell, on probation for the felony offense of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity-Manufacture of a Controlled Substance over 400 grams was adjudicated and sentenced to Fifteen (15) years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Wanda Hood Schulze Tongate, pled guilty to the felony offense of Manufacture of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Eleven (11) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Michael Ray Bush, on probation for the felony offense of Injury to a child by Omission was adjudicated and sentenced to Ten (10) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Soyeon Shier, pled guilty to three separate felony offenses of Burglary of a Habitation and was sentenced to Seven (7) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division in each case.
  • Larry Joe Ballard, pled guilty to the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to Six (6) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further, Ballard on probation for the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated was revoked and sentenced to Six (6) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Russell Wayne Schwartz, pled guilty to the felony offense of Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further Schwartz, on probation for the felony offense of unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon was adjudicated and sentenced to Five (5) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Jennifer Michelle Diaz, pled guilty to the felony offenses of Driving While Intoxicated and Forgery and was sentenced to Four (4) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division in each case.
  • Justin Don Lewis, pled guilty to the felony offense of Robbery and was sentenced to Three (3) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Amelia Christi Blake, on probation for the felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Drug Free Zone and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon was revoked and sentenced to Three (3) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.  Further, Blake, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Theft-Enhanced was revoked and sentenced to Two (2) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Justin Ray Pesina, on probation for the felony offense of Assault Family Violence Enhanced was revoked and sentenced to Two (2) Years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
  • Janet Leslie Sherrod, pled guilty to the felony offense of Fraud and was sentenced to Eighteen (18) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.  Further, Sherrod, on probation for the felony offense of Forgery was adjudicated and sentenced to Eighteen (18) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Phillip Parker Harris, on probation for the felony offense of Evading Arrest was adjudicated and sentenced to Fifteen (15) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Jason Kyle Watkins, on probation for the felony offense of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle was revoked and sentenced to Fifteen (15) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Christopher Clyde McCall, on probation for the felony offense of Theft over $1,500 under $20,000 and was adjudicated and sentenced to Thirteen (13) Months,  Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Jerry  Wayne Lobstein, on probation for the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance was revoked and sentenced to Thirteen (13) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • Anthony Jaamal Degrate, pled guilty to the felony offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance and was sentenced to Twelve (12) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
  • David Paul Marshall, on probation for the felony offense of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle was adjudicated and sentenced to Twelve (12) Months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.
